Most insurance companies offer emergency road service (towing) as an optional coverage to
their Auto Insurance Policies.
Typically, you are required to pay for the emergency road service and then submit a claim
for reimbursement.
Some things to consider:

You may not have enough funds with you to pay for the towing on the spot.

Some tow shops accept CASH Only.

A towing claim will show up on your auto claims history. You could be forfeiting a
'claims free discount' over a $40 towing bill!

A 'better approach' may be to consider an emergency road service
MEMBERSHIP from AAA.

In addition to emergency road service you are entitled to multiple discounts at hotels,
restaurants and retail stores.
